Ok so heres the deal...You-weekly mag...has an article about Japanese summer drama's and Maou was mentioned.

The Japanese version of "Maou" focuses on 2 male lead actors namely Ohno Satoshi and Ikuta Toma who have great popularity. However in local japanese fans opinions, Ohno's looks and popularity couldn't be compared to Toma's and he could not portray the same character as the popular korean idol, Joo Ji Hoon.

 

OH NO THEY DIDN'T!!

How could that baka be so clueless as to write something like that about a man that has had sold out art exhibits around Japan, a release of one of his butai's on DVD, staring in a butai this year, AND in a drama?!!! There is something clearly wrong with this persons head. Oh and I love how the write referred to "Maou" as "Toma's drama".... I mean EVEN IF fans DID say that..you shouldn't write about that in a negative way as this writer has done. ::BREATHE:: To me and Ting who told me about this...seems like its a Korean writer jealous that the Japanese version of Maou is doing better that the Korean one...

  Theres always people out there to try and bring other people down..and these dumb remarks aren't going to hurt us any ne?! It's things like this that makes us love our boys even more.... <3

Yep I'm still in Maou mode..

I have to say the first episode was interesting...

If there was one thing to complain about that would be that I would like Ohno to have more speaking parts

and an extended/unedited shower scene [maybe thats asking to much ><]

This was the first episode so I there were just setting the tone of the drama. I am really expecting great things to come from the nearing episodes^^

Adaptation of the Korean Version [Mawang]

 

*Synopsis

This is from the Korean version, same thing just different names**

When Homicide Detective Kang Oh Soo [Toma] hit a dead end in his investigation of two seemly unrelated murders, except for the Tarot cards left behind at both crime scenes, he sought help from Seo Hae In [?], a woman with psychometry  ability. She revealed that the killers were different in each murder, but the victims were chosen for their connection to a death of a high school boy. Later, the cases proved to have one more thing in common: the suspects have the same defense attorney, Oh Seung Ha [Ohno <3].

Seung Ha's [Ohno's] defense for his clients severely shaken Oh Soo’s [Toma's] conviction to catch the Tarot Card mastermind. Oh Soo [Toma] was reminded that years ago he had killed a high school classmate in a fight. He was acquitted of all charges and began his life anew. Now, someone has came back to revenge the boy’s wrongful death by killing those who got him off.

Producer Takahashi Masanao explains the reasons for this casting: "He's known for showing his gentle and slightly spaced out character in variety shows but, there should be many who have noticed the mysterious, unique charm hidden deep inside. To have him play the role of a lawyer who has the face of a cruel, vengeful demon = devil under the face he shows to others will, without a doubt, make it far more frightening."

For the sake of this role, Ohno has cut his hair and dyed it black. He says with great spirit, "As it's my first drama series I'd like to have fun acting in it but, because it's such a special setting, it looks like I may turn stoic in my daily life too (laughs). I've never taken revenge before, nor have I considered it. It's a tough role but, I will do my best to respond to everyone's expectations."
